Once you’ve decided to invest in a branding photoshoot, make sure you get the most of your images! It would be a shame to take the time and spend the money to not use the product to its full potential. It starts with preparation.
- Pre-plan what you need. Make a list of everywhere you want to share your images. Website: home page, “about” page, contact page. Blog. Newsletters. Social media profile and cover photos… and posts.
- Have a clear vision of how you want to be photographed and share it with your photographer. Create a Pinterest board with images that inspire you: style, color, location, lighting, emotion.
- Think marketing! Use your brand colors in your images through your choice of clothing or accessories, props, products, etc. Also consider the coming season and any promotional needs you may have.
- Consider the environment you’d like to be photographed in that best represents your brand. What reflects you and what you do? Indoor: your office? coffee shop? studio? favorite store? Outdoor: woods? barn? urban? small town?
Once all of these have been planned with your photographer, then comes the fun of the photo session itself! And after, strategic use of the pictures.
