How Revealing Will My Boudoir Session Be?

One of the most common concerns I hear from women are that they are too uncomfortable “showing so much skin” to do a boudoir session.

Good news: your boudoir session is only as revealing as you want it to be!

Honestly, as far as boudoir photographers go, I’m actually a bit of a prude. If it goes against Facebook's Community Standards (no uncovered female nipples, no genitalia or close-ups of fully-nude buttocks, and nothing sexually explicit), I probably won’t photograph it. I want you to celebrate you, and I believe we can do that without pushing beyond that envelope. Our goal is tasteful, not tacky. For most women, it’s enough.

That said, if you truly want something more revealing, I’m willing to talk about it. If I’m not comfortable with what you want, I know other photographers who might be a better fit.

I’ve shared several ideas for what to wear in past blog posts, but keep in mind that boudoir is more about attitude than outfit. It’s about being fully present in love for your self and your body. Boudoir pix can be more covered up than your standard beach/lake/pool attire... and even fully clothed.

More good news: if you do not want me to share your session online, I won’t! Even if you do allow me to share, I won’t tag you. And anonymous pix will be truly anonymous; any birthmarks, tattoos, scars, etc., that might be recognized will be removed in Photoshop.

Still have questions? Ask away!
