When devising your wedding day timeline, in addition to leaving plenty of time for all the family pix your parents want, I’ll ask if you will build in time for a First Look or other moment for portraits of you.
A “First Look” is an opportunity for you and your partner to connect privately before the ceremony… and these are usually the most romantic photos taken of the day, as you relax together, knowing you’re about to commit yourselves to each other. You may choose to actually be together… or you can have a “no look” first look: close enough to talk but keeping the tradition of not seeing one another ahead of that walk down the aisle.
private momentsfirst look or no look, take some private time together on your wedding day
After the ceremony, I’d love to whisk you away for more portraits of just you two. Beaming smiles tend to shine in these images… and you’ll have an opportunity to reflect on the ceremony you’ve shared.
Know that I’ll also be watching out for you during dinner. Should I notice guests continually coming up to greet you – and you not getting a chance to eat – I will step in. You have to replenish to keep your strength up! People tend to not interrupt the photographer asking the couple to pose for dining pix (and insisting they take bites between photographs in the process).
Your wedding day will be extraordinarily busy, with lots of people vying for your attention. I try to make these private moments a respite in your day, not only taking pictures, but also giving space for you to just be with each other on your Best Day Ever.
