Most lists included in all the bridal magazines cover basics that every photographer already plans to shoot. What we really need to do is create a custom list together.

Yes, we’re going to take pictures of ceremony, the rings (being exchanged, on and off your hands), your first kiss, your first dance, the flowers (and the bouquet toss), the cake (and its cutting), etc. But please let us know about special or sentimental details, though, that we might not otherwise know about (like a special jewelry piece) so we don’t miss them.

We’re going to take every conceivable family photo. What we need, however, are some details: who are the key people (so we can call them by name) and whether there any special shots (e.g., the bride with her great grandmother) we shouldn’t miss.

We also would love a warning about any special traditions or events that will take place, like a sparkler exit.

Magazine lists are a great start, but know that we already know that part. We need the part that is special just for you!
