You’re getting your online presence together but wondering about content creation and what to do with “all those pix” you have from your branding session. Here’s a plan for you.
Start with a blog post, ideally on your website, but if that’s not an option, link your site in it to drive traffic. There are lots of differing points of view on blog length – some recommend 300-500 words, while others say 2000! - so just “do you” on that. I tend to keep mine rather short, because, frankly, I don’t like to read long pieces online. Use a picture with your post.
Now that your base information is done, can you break it down into several smaller pieces? That would allow sharing over several posts. Take a snippet of your blog post and send it – with a link to the full piece – to your email list. Use a different, but similar, photograph.
social media calendarFill your calendar!
Share a snippet to your favorite social media site, whether that’s Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram… or all of the above! Use a slightly different image, but related/similar to the one posted with the blog and shared via email.
Now share another related photo to Pinterest, one of the biggest “search engines” out there, with a link to the blog post.
Why am I suggesting different images for each one? Fatigue. People will want to know they are in the right place with similar images from the same setup, but they don’t want to see the exact same photograph everywhere; they’ll scroll on by, even if they haven’t actually clicked through. Something similar will have them actually reading the caption and considering that there might be something more/different to read. And when they get there, they’ll know they’re in the right place because of a "familiar" (but not tired) picture.
There you go: four places to share the same content without having to reinvent the wheel.
Now… do you need pix to go with your content? Let’s chat about the best way to make this happen.
