Anytime you are being photographed, I’ll send you my Client Guide with tips on how to prepare for your session. No matter the type, one of the items on your checklist is to take care of your hands and everything on them. Unless you are only getting a basic headshot, your hands will likely show in some of your photos – especially if you are having a branding photoshoot or getting engagement, bridal, or boudoir portraits… or it’s your wedding!
clean your ringPay attention to your hands before your shoot.
The week or so before, invest some time in a manicure, whether you do it yourself or have it done for you. Trim your nails to a similar length. Use a rich moisturizer at least daily, paying special attention to your cuticles. If you polish your nails, choose a neutral color; alternatively, choose something that will go with all your selected outfits.
And, of course, clean your rings so they shine. First step is to block the drain! Use a soft toothbrush and toothpaste to gently clean all the crevices. Rinse well, and polish with a soft cloth.
These are simple things, but they are details that really can make a difference in how put together you look.
