Behind the Scenes: Cull/Edit

cull

/kəl/

verb

  1. select from a large quantity

After our session together, I’ll download your image files off the camera card to my laptop. I use a software program called Lightroom to cull through and select the best pix from our time together and perform some initial edits.

I will look at each image and eliminate any that have blinks, unflattering expressions, missed focus, or anything that does not reflect you at your best.

I’ll then perform some standard edits: level out horizons (I tend to have a 1-2 degree list), balance out lighting, and make sure the color is correct.

Once I’ve gone through this process, I’ll select one image to fully retouch as a sample before we get together and choose which photographs make you happiest.

Ready for some great photographs? Let’s get to know each other over coffee (or smoothies… or milkshakes…), and talk about celebrating your life’s true beauty in images you love. You can reach me at [email protected] or (434) 226-0365 and let me know when and where you'd like to meet!

My Promise: Together, we will create amazing photos you’ll want to share. How do you want to be photographed?
