Branding 101: Who’s Your Audience?

Who is your ideal client (buyer, employer, life partner…)? Yes, your personal brand is for more than just business! Identify who you want to reach. You need to know who that is before you can reach them; you speak differently to a potential boss than you do to a potential lover!

Some people find it helpful to create an avatar: an “invisible friend,” if you will, that represents your perfect person. Go beyond demographics (47-year-old female) to psychographics (she’s raised her children; now it’s her time to follow her dreams).

What does your audience want to see and hear from you? What problem is she having? What is she Googling at night?
