Looking Good in Photos: Chin Forward and Down

February 07, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

There are so many things to think about and monitor during a portrait session, it’s hard to pick just one posing tip to share with you, but the most valuable is probably “chin forward and down” (like a turtle). You will hear me say this A LOT in our sessions together. It feels really weird, but trust me: it makes such a difference! Whatever is closer to the camera appears larger... and this part of the pose moves your eyes closer while helping eliminate any “extra” in the chin/neck area, appearing to thin the face a bit. Practice in a mirror, adjusting the angle and amount, until you find what works for you. Your selfies and group snapshots will look so much better, too!
